Achieving Worldly Success & Contentment

Everyday we wake up, we are taking the necessary steps to become successful in every area of our lives and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! God wants us to be successful, blessed and prosperous. He wants us to be whole, nothing missing, nothing broken. The issue therefore is, what do we do after success? After we achieve everything we desired, do we stop there? Absolutely not, because we always want and desire more, it’s our human nature. Moreover, there is so much more we can do and accomplish, but when do we reach a period of worldly contentment? After completing my master’s this month, I realized how much I achieve many of the things I desired to do and there is still much more I desire to accomplish on my list, but I have contentment. I’m content.

Where did my contentment come from? It came from being complete in the Lord. Having God in my life, made me realize, He is all I really need, everything else is all wants. This is the reason, why God said to seek Him first, in Matthew 6:33, because He knows, once you are complete in Him first, He will help make possible everything that you need and want. He will take care of you. For this reason, it’s important that we do not fall into lust with the things of this world and desire only success in the world, but also desire spiritual success in the things of God. Once you are whole spiritually-internally, you will achieve successfulness in every other area in your life, physically, mentally and financially. Take the time, while pursing worldly success to also pursue spiritual success and contentment and at the end receive what matters most for eternity.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”
